Court Marriage & Family Lawyer Near You in Delhi

The office that handles your marriage and the court that hears your family matter depend on where you live. This page maps common areas to the right place.

Delhi districts changed in 2026

Delhi's revenue districts were reorganised from 11 to 13 by a Revenue Department notification of 25 December 2025. The new districts are Central, Central North, East, New Delhi, North, North East, North West, Old Delhi, Outer North, South, South East, South West and West; Shahdara is no longer a separate revenue district. SDM (sub-division) boundaries moved with this change, so the Marriage Officer or registering authority for your address may differ from what older websites say. Always confirm your current sub-division on the Delhi Revenue Department website before applying. A further notification of 3 September 2026 aligned registration jurisdiction with these boundaries, with a Sub-Registrar office for each of the 39 sub-divisions.

Court allocation follows police station and district jurisdiction, which changed with the 2026 reorganisation. We confirm the exact court and office for your address.

Do you need someone physically near you?

For court marriage and registration, what matters is the Marriage Officer's district, not your lawyer's office. Much of the preparation (document review, drafting) can be done remotely. For court cases, the lawyer must appear in the court where your case is filed.

How to choose

  • Check that the advocate is enrolled with a State Bar Council.
  • Ask how fees are structured and what government charges are separate.
  • Be wary of guaranteed outcomes or same-day promises.
