Delayed Marriage Registration in Delhi

Many couples never registered their marriage and only need a certificate years later. Late registration is usually possible, but it needs more evidence.

What is delayed registration?

The Delhi (Compulsory Registration of Marriage) Order, 2014 requires registration of marriages solemnised in Delhi. Where registration is delayed, the authority may require additional affidavits, evidence of continued cohabitation and late charges.

Children's birth certificates, joint documents and old photographs can all help prove the marriage.
